Well, I just realized it has been 8 weeks since I have blogged ANY of my sessions!! I apologize to my readers that follow my blog! (Yes, I got all of your emails) and yes, I am fine! I just have been so busy! I also have to admit that I am waiting for my blog design to be completed, and I STILL am not sure when that will be!

A couple of changes have occurred, as you may have noticed, I have a new logo!! I am also providing a photo jewelry line and a selling photo handbags to my customers!

These past 2 months I have been flooded with Graduations, Baby and Family Sessions! Designing birth announcements and Birthday invites too!

Looking ahead, I am booking up fast for the Holiday Season! So if you want to book a session for the Holidays, make sure you get in touch with me so we can reserve your date before time runs out!!

Ok, I have been really sick all this week!! I had to finally go to urgent care today, I was dehydrated- had an IV put in and it was a cold turned into a sinus infection which I haven't had since I was a teen! I couldn't keep anything down nor wanted to eat on Sunday and I had a fever AGAIN--And when I feel so horrible, I sleep but I wanted to post ONE picture from a session this weekend!!

I am starting to blog some of the sessions that I have not had a chance to post until now!

I met one of the sweetest families for their baby girl's newborn session and let me say they completely melted my heart! Especially Big Sis!! She was adorable! As soon as she saw that I "dressed" her sister as a ladybug, she ran to her room and got her halloween "bee" costume! It was one of THE the sweetest things I have seen a 2 year old do! Big sis also wanted to put hairbands on her toes when she saw that I put mommy and daddy's wedding bands on her little sisters toes. I can't wait to see the four of you soon! Thanks for the amazing session!!

I know I have not been consistent in blogging these past few weeks! I am super busy getting to launch new products that will only be available to those of you who have or will be booking a session with me!

I am also getting ready to revamp my logo and blog, so I am also excited that I will have a new look soon!

Wow!

It has been a while! Because I worked so hard during the holidays, I took almost all of January and February off! Now that March has finally rolled along I find my self rapidly starting to book now and the next months ahead. I have been so busy lately that I have been ignoring my blog! I had the awesome opportunity to do a shoot for Kaitlyn. I know she has been patiently waiting for me to post her pictures online :)

She has such beautiful features it made my job so easy! Gotta love that! After all that work Kaitlyn, Emily (my assistant) and I headed for In-N-Out and it was so fun to hang out!

First of all, I wish all of you a Happy New Year full of health, happiness and good fortune!

Now that my eldest daughter is going back to preschool from winter break, I am now getting back into work mode...

I have some sessions to catch up and post on here so let me start with the Bulger Family. Grandma had emailed me that she and her husband wanted to do a family session with her son, his wife and her grandchildren! Mom had warned me that the her son would not smile for the pictures... little did she know that I would make him smile and even laugh! The kids were so full of energy my favorite shots were when they went leaf throwin'!

We also got to watch Caterpillars getting ready to make their cocoons and butterflies fluttering by...

A baby girl...

Here is a shoot of a wonderful baby girl I met. I did her mommy's maternity session in October. She was so sweet and slept through much of the session. Here she is at 6 days old at her home. Mom looks great doesn't she?! Congrats Mom and Dad and I can't wait for her next shoot!

No Black Friday for me!

First of all, I want to say that I hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving. Yesterday was a double celebration for us since it was also my Dad's 50th birthday :)

I am TRYING to catch up in sessions and will post sessions on this blog as soon as I can...

Now for my story...

Growing up, my family never did the whole "black friday, shopping-day-after-thanksgiving" shopping day the next morning. I am guessing we were lazy and rather sleep in, but I now know my mom knew better....

Forward to 2006... The midnight after Thanksgiving in 2006, my friend Amy convinced me to go with her to the Disney Store Outlet for their "midnight madness" sale-- and madness it was... it was like nothing I had ever seen... the first few minutes were fine, but as more people got into the store, the more aggressive these people got. I remember the workers would go to receiving (the back of the store) to get more toys and as soon as they would open the door, people were attacking the poor workers and ripping the "goodies" out of their arms. People where fighting about what was theirs and ripping things out of each others hands like two little preschoolers that did not want to share a toy. People were vicious, fighting with each other and that was not OK with me. That was the first and last time I have done Black friday.

Now I know some of my readers will say that they have never seen this. And will tell me that what I wrote above and the following is just an unlucky incident. I will be happy to hear that... BUT

The whole reason I decided to write about this is because I was very sad to hear that a 34 year old man was KILLED at a WALMART in New York because he was crushed by the throng of customers. This is horrible-- a life has been taken to save a couple of bucks. I can't imagine having been one of the individuals who ran over this man and go home after a day of shopping and say "hey honey look what a deal I got, and I got it because I was one of the first to get through the door, unfortunately an innocent man lost his life"...

This man is someone's son, brother, and maybe husband and father...

This incident convinced me that my first and only black friday will be the Thanksgiving of 2006.

For those of you who are out there, please be careful and look both ways before you cross the stores aisles ;)

Back in October, I had the privilege to do a maternity session for the gorgeous Erin. I drove out about to 2 hours to her home for her baby girls newborn session ... And now here is her newborn Riley at 6 days old. Isn't she a doll?

It was an awesome session, the weather was perfect... it kept the house warm... and I had really good lemonade... (Thanks Erin) :)

On the skin to skin shots poor dad got pooped and peed on about 3 times... isn't he a trooper?! He still went through with the session... parents always worry about "baptizing" my blankets but honestly I expect them to bless them ;)

Congrats Mom and Dad and Big Brother Jonah! Can't wait for her 3 month shoot!

Here are some pictures of my friend Amy and her family. Her little girl is turning five soon so we also wanted to capture that milestone for her birthday party. My daughter loves Amy's daughter --as I was bringing up their pictures on my computer, my daughter kept on saying " She is so beautiful".
Amy and husband hadn't considered getting a picture of just the two of them, but I am glad they did--- it is one of my favorites!

Work, Work, Work....

I am so sorry I haven't been writing this past week! I am trying to catch up on sessions and all it entails! I have another session tomorrow and I wanted to finish and upload several sessions! Last night I went to a NICU to shoot another baby for NILMDTS-- a 3 month old.... these sessions become a priority when I have a cushion with deadlines.

Well, I have several pictures to share, so I will start with last weekend. We went to a pumpkin patch... It was cold and rainy, and too yucky to take pics of my kiddos, they ended up with soaked hair just trying to pick out their pumpkins, but I met up with Emily for a few minutes to say hi and meet her cute kids and to take some quick pictures of them.

As you may already know, I am a Volunteer Photographer for this wonderful organization. The babies and their wonderful families will forever be in my heart. And yes, the two pictures above were taken by me at the hospital.

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.

These Guys...

So we go to our local bookstore today. We go straight to the Magazines and since my daughter can only see the Magazines on the lower book case, she passes the Nickelodeon and Disney magazines and picks up the latest issue of Bop Magazine (I used to get those!) and HUGS the magazine and says "Look MAMI, the Jonas Brothers!" I started to crack up and my hubby was surprised, though he didn't think it was AS funny! She then says " I LOVE the Jonas Brothers"-- she is 3!

So the whole way home, my hubby is trying to convince my daughter that the Jonas Brothers are stinky and yucky (soooo jealous :) ) and she says "no, they not stinky papi".

So when we got home, I hooked up my itunes and played "Burning Up".
These guys are talented, and their music is something that both my daughter and I can listen to in the car...

I think we will be in trouble when our daughter is a teen, if she already thinks the Jonas Brothers are "Beautiful" !

Thanks Carey! Canon is making a VERY mysterious marketing campaign of a new camera being released... since the new 50D has already replaced the 40D it is for sure not that one!
I am hoping that the new generation 5D is what is coming out! Oh Gosh!! If it is, then I know what I am going to get for Christmas!

I got an email from a fellow photographer and friend Dana Fallentine and she said she had 2 pictures for me... I was a bit surprised and was thinking it was from the NILMDTS BBQ last month. I opened them and I saw a picture I took of her and her family framed and over her fireplace... I was sooo excited (Dana, you are going to have to invite me over to your house so I can see it in person ;) ) Here is the picture up close...

Getting Back to Business....

It really has been a while since I have blogged! But now that September is officially underway, I am ready to get back into the daily (?) habit of blogging once more. So much to blog... so little time!
Well, as previously mentioned, my youngest just turned 1 year old over the labor day weekend... she has been walking for several weeks already... so I now have a toddler :)

My eldest just started preschool, she is 3. I was kind of skeptical of sending her to school but she loves her class and her teacher so much, that I am glad we did. So now our 3 year old has a schedule of school and other extracurricular activities.... she is 3!!! I didn't have that at her age!

Well, here she is on her first day.... with her pigtails... so cute!

Summer is coming to a close....

It just hit me. My youngest is turning 1 this week and my firstborn is starting preschool next week, which by the way was not an easy decision. Why you ask? Well, I am going to miss her AND she will be in school and working for the rest of her life... ok, I know I am overreacting...

I am looking forward to this new stage in life and actually having some 1 on 1 time with my youngest.

A couple of weeks ago I met the cutest couple and their kids.... "furkids" that is! Meet Asia and Tenzo- really some of the cutest "furkids" I have ever met! If you though taking a picture of a baby or toddler is tough, well let me just say that I don't want to hear any complaints! :)
In fact, the thing that was distracting my littlest and furiest subjects were some kids just playing at the park and other fellow k9's... ENJOY! Thanks guys for making this such a fun session! I truly had a blast!!!

It has been a while since I have posted, but for a good reason, these past few weeks I have had several sessions with no breaks in between! I have met such lovely couples, beautiful families and great new businesses.

I wanted to highlight one of my families today- this family has the cutest little girl who is turning 1 this month! Mom contacted me because her little one has been walking for the past month and won't sit still! I don't blame her! Following this little one was so much fun! And she has the most gorgeous eyes!

I am so happy to announce that my favorite photographer and friend Carey Schumacher of San Diego Barefoot Memories, announced THE event of the year! The BBQ smackdown 2008! To see just who makes a better steak- Carey or Skip! Proceeds will be going to NILMDTS, which is an organization that I am part of as an affiliate photographer.

I bought my husband Steve a Golden ticket for the smackdown, so that he can be one of the judges... (and I am sure he will love the fact that Carey will be making his steak!)

My Baby is Growing Up!

On Father's Day, I got this shot of my youngest taking her first steps with Daddy's help. Though I am happy that she is reaching all her milestones in good time (her sister didn't want to walk until she was 15 months), it also makes me realize that she will soon no longer be a "baby" but a toddler. Now don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to it... it is just that the baby stage passes by so quickly!

BTW, Happy Father's Day Hon! Thank you for being an AMAZING husband and Father to our girls. You are my best friend and I will always love you!

New Tutus!

I love having custom made tutus for my shoots....

BUT they are soooo expensive!! Luckily, my mom LOVES to sew and crotchet, so I asked her to PLEASE help me to make my own dress-up props. Here are a few unprofessional snapshots of my first and 2nd tutu... same size, different sized child!

I will be working with my mom on the days I don't have sessions and I will soon be selling tutus and crotchet items for any of my fellow colleagues that would like to add to their studio collection and of course any mom's that want to buy them for their own princesses... there will be simple tutus of solid colors-- to 2-3 toned tutus ---to more elaborate tutu's with crystals and ribbons added to the skirt....whew!! Stay tuned!

Remember that post of the AMAZING Sandy (Sam) Puc'? Well she is the President and co-founder of the NILMDTS. I got an email this morning that I have been accepted into the program! I am beyond honored...

NILMDTS is a non-profit organization that provides free sessions from a professional photographer to families who's baby will not be leaving the hospital. The family is also provided a cd with all images with no copyright restrictions.

So, I am finally going to do this... my first blog entry.

This is my introduction: Photography is my passion, it has been ever since I was a little girl using my fathers camera, but I loved it even more with the birth of my daughter. At that time I still had a point-and-shoot but everyone was telling me that I had "the eye" for taking great pictures. The day after my daughter's first birthday I scratched the lens of my point and shoot-- the scratch was distorting every picture; my husband took me to buy my first SRL. I loved the feeling of having such a nice camera. I continued taking pictures of my daughter... and friends and strangers alike who saw my pictures began asking if photography was something I did on the side, and if I could take pictures of their kids... and it grew and grew to where I was filling up my calendar for family sessions too! After much support from friends and family, I decided to take the next step and start my photography business. So here I am. Now shooting pictures of all my wonderful clients, friends, family, their pets AND my newest inspiration-my second born daughter.
